Dear Quaboag Valley Zontians,

As we look back over the last two years we want to thank everyone for making our job such an easy and enjoyable one. For a small group of women, we have achieved a great deal.

For the 2012 – 2014 biennium we have again reached the goal of 100% individual member contribution to Zonta International Foundation. Collectively we have donated over $3,600 in the past 2 years.

This year our club honored Yoko Kato with our Founders Day award. We had over 70 guests including friends, relatives, and other distinguished guests including Mr Nobuyuki Watanabe, Consulate General of Japan to honor Yoko for the work she does advocating to end violence against women. Our thanks to Mary Ann for her time spent with Yoko and to Mary for all her excellent coverage of the event on the web, newsletters, newspapers and TV.

Our ongoing fundraisers were, as always, very successful. In the past 2 years the golf tournament and poinsettia sales have brought in over $1100 to be used for our service projects. A big thanks to Liz, Debbie, Marge and Kris for all their work in making these events such a success.

Dianne, Trish, B.J. and Loretta deserve a round of applause for preparing, planning and emceeing our 6th Silent No More Auction. We netted $6811 that will be shared by three very deserving organizations. Thanks to Pam for bringing us into the modern era with the “square” which allowed us to accept credit cards at our events.

Our fundraisers have allowed us to continue with our yearly contributions to Ware Christmas for Kids, local food banks, The Survival Center, the Palmer Library, and to financially support Zonta International’s ongoing programs.

We are pleased to have inducted Tina, Desiree, Dana and Sandy. They jumped right in on many projects and Tina will become a member of the Board in June. We also welcomed Janet back and she will become co-president for the next biennium.

We continue our monthly visits with the Vets. Our May outing to the Butterfly Museum coordinated by Carolyn was a huge success and still is being talked about by all the ladies. They greatly enjoyed the outing. April was a chocolate lover’s delight as Lisa prepared candies with our veteran friends. The women look forward to our ongoing visits and the friendships we have formed with them.

We could go on and on about your accomplishments over the past 2 years. We want to thank each and every member of this great club for your contributions and support that helped make our time as co presidents so successful.

Thank you all for being such a great group of women and such wonderful friends!

Joanne & Ann
