Updates past and present on the volunteers working to make a difference in the Zonta Club of Quaboag Valley February 2025

You are invited!

Saturday, February 22^nd @ 10am – noon – Period Project, followed by Luncheon at Venture Way Collaborative in Hadley. Feminine hygiene products are considered non-essential by the federal government, so they are not covered by SNAP and WIC programs. This project seeks donations of sealed boxes of individually-wrapped pads and tampons, cleansing wipes, hand sanitizers or soap, panty liners, toiletries and new underwear in any size. Packets are assembled for monthly periods and distributed by our non-profit partners to shelters, food banks, schools, etc. An Amazon Wish List and drop off locations are published at www.zontaqv.org/period. Volunteers are also needed for assembly on 2/22 and to pick up/deliver finished packets. Contact info@zontaqv.org for any questions.

Monday, March 10^th Women Making A Difference – Ludlow Country Club 5:30

Reception, 6:00 Dinner and program. In honor of International Women’s Day we will celebrate three amazing women: Tanisha Arena (Arise), Liz Wills-O’Gilvie (Gardening the Community), Liz Dineen (YWCA of Western MA). The Emcee for the program and further details will be announced shortly. Each of the honorees will received a $500 check made out to a charity of their choice benefitting women and/or girls To be added to the mailing list for this program, email info@zontaqv.org

Monday, April 16^th – Emergency Preparedness – Planning for the Unknown – Ludlow Country Club 5:30 Reception, 6:00 Dinner and program. In honor of Earth Day we will shine a light on impacts a changing climate has on our communities. Guest speaker, Melissa Marshall, will speak on the need for emergency evacuation plans specific to people with disabilities. We are also considering a project of collecting and packaging items to donate to Stavros Center for Independent Living and a handy checklist that individuals and families can use to create “Go Bags” for quick evacuation. We will also offer tickets to our May Calendar drawing for 31 chances to win gifts of $25 or more. To be added to the mailing list for this program and/or the May Fundraiser, email info@zontaqv.org.

Monday, May 12^th – Zonta and the Foundation for Women – Ludlow Country Club 5:30 Reception, 6:00 Dinner and program. This is a membership meeting – anyone interested in joining Zonta as a member or supporter is invited to join us at no cost. Learn about the international aspects of Zonta and how clubs in 64 countries work together to make the world a better place for women and girls. Monday, June 9^th – Potluck dinner at the Kough-Huff Home, Belchertown – Meet the winner of the Zonta Young Woman in Leadership award, wrap up activities for the Zonta Year, plan for the North American InterDistrict Meeting (NAIDM) – Detroit, Michigan [www.zontanaidm.org/] – June 20-22, and celebrate each other in the Zonta Spirit.
