Attorney Elizabeth G. Dineen serves as the CEO of the YWCA of Western Massachusetts since 2016. Throughout her career, Dineen has been a strong and passionate advocate for women and children. For 27 years, Dineen served as an Assistant District Attorney in Hampden County, Massachusetts. During her tenure, Dineen's caseload primarily focused on the prosecution of adult sexual assaults, physical and sexual child abuse, domestic violence murders, and child homicide cases. Dineen transitioned from the District Attorney's Office to Bay Path University, where she served for six years as the Chair of the Criminal Justice Department and taught in the Honor's Program.
Throughout Dineen's career, she has served on a number of national, state and local boards. Currently, she serves a member of the Governor's Council to Address Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Human Trafficking in Massachusetts, as a member of the Board of Trustees at Elms College, on the Board of Directors for the Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts, and on the Board of Directors of Springfield-Hampden County Continuum of Care (to fight homelessness). She has spoken at national, state and local conferences on a variety of topics, and received a number of honors in recognition of her service to her community. including Business West's Women of Impact, Massachusetts Lawyers: Top Women of Law, Governor's Award for Service to the Commonwealth, Massachusetts Bar Association–Access to Justice—Prosecutor of the Year (first female recipient), United States Postal Service: Women's History Award, YWCA: Woman of Achievement, and Distinguished Alumni Award Elms College. Finally, Dineen taught for years at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (the premiere trial advocacy school) as well as taught for and published articles in Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education publications.
